See You On The Radio
I recently heard this from CBS Newsman, Charles Osgood, about his usual TV sign off ... "I'll see you on the

Google Plus Hangouts for Business
Allow me to introduce to you one of the most powerful "human engagement" platforms available today. It's the Google Plus Hangout. You and up to 9 other people can be together online showcasing your product, doing demonstrations, hosting expert interviews. Used in combination with offline media, this can put your business on the map.
Above is a Google Plus Hangout that we hosted for The Rock Ranch. The Rock Ranch is hosting Atlanta Braves legend, Sid Bream, this weekend. This video interview platform can be used on the regular Google Plus stream or you can grab the embed code and put it on your company's website.
Imagine how you can use this to position your company as THE go to company for what you sell or service.
To set up your Google Plus account, just log onto Google and click the +You to begin creating your profile. We'll see you in the stream!

Zerorez: Leads Galore

140 Leads
When I hear about these stories, it encourages me that this is exactly where I should be helping advertisers with measureable results.
I was having lunch with a colleague of mine who handles the Zerorez account for 104.7 the Fish.
What he told me astounded me, but honestly, it's a story that I have heard year after year working with the Fish.
Zerorez advertises on more than 10 radio stations in the Atlanta market. Once again 104.7 the Fish leads the pack; generating 140 leads from our listeners as of last Friday.
That's 140 qualified leads; many of which will turn into repeat sales.
104.7 the Fish continues to be a proven performer. With the right message and the right offer, we can move our audience to your brand or store.

QR Codes -- Have You Heard??
You've probably seen these around. They're called QR codes. And they are popping up everywhere.Download a FREE QR Code reader from your mobile phone app market and start uncovering a wealth of information simply by scanning these codes.
This past weekend scanning a QR code saved me $100 dollars. I was making a purchase at Best Buy and noticed a QR code on the display. When I scanned the code, I found that the Best Buy online price was $100 cheaper than their in store price. The store matched the price and I saved $100 dollars! With a QR code reader, I would've missed out on the rich media experience that took the camera I was buying and showcased it AND I would've missed out on a $100 savings.
The restaurant chain, Chili's, recently completed a cause-marketing campaign in an effort to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Hospitals and had 291,000 scans!! Read the entire article here.
We can even do some very cool QR Code promotions for your company using our Fish Rewards platform; our points-based frequent flyer program for our most loyal listeners.
We could do a scan to win driving traffic into your store where listeners scan the code to be automatically entered into a branded contest.
Just one more way we are so much more than just a radio station outlet for your advertising. Nowadays, I don't even say that I work with 104.7 the Fish. I tell potential clients that I am with Salem Media of Georgia and 104.7 the Fish is just one of my consumer channels we can use.
Want to do a QR Code promotion? Then contact me and we can start creating it together.

Gamification of An Atlanta Pest Control Company

I was on a time-out call with another one of my colleagues earlier this week visiting with a large Atlanta-based pest control company. The marketing person interfaces with every kind of media imaginable ... radio, TV, websites, etc.
We were presenting our annual plan and included Fish Rewards. (Fish Rewards is our points-based listener loyalty site that rewards our listeners with virtual currency that they can enter to win prizes, sweepstakes, and instant wins).
What was most interesting is this ... the client said they had tried all sorts of digital programs but none worked nearly as well as Fish Rewards as far as generating measurable web traffic. And he pointed out that when the listener visited their website via Fish Rewards, the bounce rate was significantly lower than any other redirect site.
What if you could send multitudes to your website? Maybe have listeners engage with your audio or your video? Need a consumer perceptual study? We can do that too?
Maybe you'd like to feature a branded contest with your product or service.
Give me a call at 678-632-6733 and I'll bring my brand new tablet to your business and show you all that we can do to help you with your digital marketing efforts.

Need a Traffic Driver?

Soul Sufer, Bethany Hamilton, shows up at Family Christian Stores to take pictures with 1,500 of her closest Atlanta fans. The only promotional mechanism in place was 104.7 the Fish.
If we can put this many people in a line to see an inspirational character, what can we find inspirational about your product or service?
It's all about the offer.

Training an Old Dog
Many say you can't teach old dogs new tricks but I'm going to have to disagree when it comes to saving $$$. Everyday I get tons of "daily deals" emails like Groupon. And honestly some of the deals are out of this world. In the last week, I've purchased a $45 auto detail for $9. I've bought $20 of BBQ for $10 and I've treated "the lunch bunch" to pizza with a voucher I got for only $5. We got $20 worth of pizza. But I, like Laura Ries, have some concerns that advertisers who use these vehicles are training consumers to only shop their store when they have a coupon. In a recent article Laura Ries says ...
"Think about it. The effects of coupons, sales and discounts are exactly the same as cocaine. The first time you get a discount card in the mail you are elated! Wow! 10% off, 20% off, 2-for-1! You might rush out to the store and take advantage of the offer. But next time you drive by that store you think, I’ll just wait and see if there are any more coupons coming. Next time you drive by that store you get mad since you forgot the coupon. Eventually you refuse to step into the store without a coupon."
My wife and I were doing some Christmas shopping a few weeks ago at Kohls. The items we were shopping were 65% off, plus we had an additional 15% off over and above that.
Why would I every pay retail again?
Can you teach an old dog new tricks? In this case and to the detriment of brand building, I believe the answer is a resounding YES.

Monitter This
I just found a very exciting way to "monitter" what consumers are saying about your business. It's located here: http://www.monitter.com.
You can set up search fields and geo locate tweets that have been made about your business or trends you follow in your business.
This is exciting because this gives you an opportunity to respond to either positive or negative feedback with super speed. This is not about selling a consumer but engaging with them on their turf.
Imagine building a relationship with a customer long before they have a need for your product or service. How powerful.
Let me know what you think about http://www.monitter.com.
